Established in 1980, Orecchiella Nature Reserve protects 218 hectares of beech, chestnut and fir tree forests. Its visitor center houses a natural history museum, an Alpine flower garden and several enclosures with red deer, mouflons, black grouse, roe deer, wolves and bears. Leading from the center are free access footpaths that loop through grazing lands, limestone walls, mountainous caves and enchanted wilderness.
