Vallisneri Family

Noble and rich family of feudal lords dominating since the 11th century some counties, from the slopes of Parma along the river Enza of Cento Laghi Park to the territories of Appennino Tosco-Emiliano Park in the Municipality of Collagna.
In the Municipality of Collagna there is Vallisnera, a town set in a valley at the foot of Mt. Ventasso, surrounded by chestnut tree forests.
The town plan, characteristic of the towns of the Upper Apennines, reveals the very ancient origins of the place with its stone-built houses, the stone portals, the bas-reliefs representing knights and their majesties in apuano marble, with sacred subjects.
