The summer calendar of the territory of Appennino Tosco-Emiliano is rich in initiatives and events: town festivals, sports events, wine and gastronomy tastings, concerts, and cultural events animate the nights of tourists and residents.
Among them, the popular theater of Maggio, the International Festival of the Slow Food Towns in Felina, Sapori, the festival-trade fair of the characteristic products of Lunigiana, and Ventasso Eco-Marathon consisting of trials among the summits of the Park combined with music festivals.
In this season, the forests enjoy their maximum luxuriance and create a charming landscape characterized by various shades of green. On the slope of Emilia, in the fodder meadows of Parmigiano Reggiano, the hay is dried in the sun and gathered in the characteristic cylindrical bales.
It is the season of wild berries: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and bilberries you can pick up along the trails and mule tracks.
The big wall of Pietra di Bismantova gives the opportunity to practice sports climbing, while around the Pietra you will find the cardiac-protected routes.
If you are not satisfied with climbing with bare feet or hands towards the sky and you want to fly, you can enjoy hang gliding and paragliding.
Ideal locations to practice these sports are the summits of Cusna and Mt. Prampa: you can usually fly on Saturday and Sunday. In summer you can reach the best take-off places through the skilifts in Febbio, open in the summer weekends and every day in August, as well as the skilifts in Cerreto Laghi and Pratospilla, all equipped also for the transport of the mountain bike to practice downhill.
Moreover, in this season the activities of the project "Experience the Park-Do to Understand" are carried out: this project is dedicated to the students of secondary schools who, during educational stays, will be actively involved in the life of the local towns.
