This park favorite sits beside the valleys of Secchia river and Enza river and the scenic Lake Calamone. The Park is known for its diversity in wildlife and vegetation and this hike certainly shows this. From start to finish, you will travel along century old mule tracks through thickets of beech wood, magnificent willows in wet areas, wild junipers and roses in clearings and conifers in reforested areas. There is a small restaurant at the edge of Lake Calamone called Rifugio Venusta.

recommended route

From the parking lot of Bar il Faggio Bar Camping, continue on foot on SP102 into the woods. After about a kilometer uphill, the asphalt road will lead to Lake Calamone. From here go left across the bridge onto trail 661. After summiting, this trail will turn into 663. Just continue on the loop until you make it back to the lake where you'll see a restaurant called Rifugio Venusta.
