Itinerary 4: Ventasso

On foot         Great Interest: Panorama
  • Difficulty Level: intermediate-demanding
  • Length: 2.8 km
  • Difference in height: 180m

The itinerary leaves from the bar situated next to the café-restaurant and continues up to the lake, following a rather demanding uphill stretch (going in 1,200m from 1,320m to 1,380m asl). At the lake you can go on one shore or the other, and by the lakeside there is also a café-shelter. From the lake, a very steep but short trail leaves, and then becomes rather easy, although it continues uphill until the arrival. Then you will have to cross a stony ground where there are iron poles and steel rope, not dangerous, but not suitable if you are afraid of heights. The itinerary is about 2,800m long and is almost entirely shady. At the arrival point, there is an open but unattended mountain hut where you can stop and have your packed lunch. Beyond the lake, the trail is not accessible by emergency means of transport because the trail becomes difficult from the lake onwards.
