On the trail of wolves, boars…. and polenta!

Snowshoe hike on the traces of wolves and other valley animals

Sunday 25 February 2018

A nice trail, with some very panoramic stretches, leads to an open area where wood and meadow often alternate, creating the right environment for animals to live. There, on the meadows facing Passo del Cirone, wolf traces have been repeatedly observed in the last few months: footprints, territorial marking, predations. After having explored meadows and woods, we will resume the trail and be back at the mountain hut by 2pm, to enjoy a wolfish meal.

  • Duration: 4-5 hours. Difference in elevation: 300m approx. Planned time of arrival: 1.30-2.00 pm.
  • Level of difficulty: Medium. Necessary equipment: hat, scarf, gloves, hiking boots, snowshoes (available at the mountain hut by previous booking), walking sticks, and any useful item for a winter hike. In case of no snow, the hike will take place as a regular walk. Back at the mountain hut, participants can have lunch together, à la carte.
  • Participation fee: €15/adult, €7/child
